Considerations for Google Classroom for the summer.
This page includes information and recommendations for Google Classroom for the summer for students who are remaining in the district.
CUSD Created Classes Archived
If your class was created during the year automatically by our district systems, that class will be archived shortly after school ends.
Archived Google Classes
You will still have access to documents and assignments in the Classroom folder in your Google Drive.
You can still access your work in your Classroom folder in your Google Drive or from your Archived Classes.
You won't see the course card in your Google Classroom dashboard.
Teachers can restore an archived class at any time. Students cannot restore classes.
Custom Classes not archived
If a custom class was created by a teacher during the year, the class will not be automatically archived and will continue to remain active and managed by the teacher(s). Teachers can manually archive classes.
Custom Classes
Custom classes will not be archived by the district. Teachers can choose to archive custom classes at any time.
Custom classes will remain managed by the teachers or co-teachers through the summer and into next year.
Students will continue to see the course card on their Google Classroom dashboard unless the class is archived.
Students cannot archive a class.
See My work in Archived Classes
Even if a class has been archived by a teacher, the student can still view all their work from the course. Here's how:
Visit your Google Classroom: https://classroom.google.com/
Choose the three menu lines in the upper left. Scroll to the bottom of the list.
Choose Archived classes. A new screen will appear with all your archived classes.
Select the folder icon in the lower right of the course card to view your files. Choose the work icon just to the left to view your work.
You will not be able to participate and work in the course if it is archived.
More information about archived classes in Google Classroom can be found here.
